I love a white handbag for summer. Especially if it's leather. And Gucci. Delicious!

New Arrival: the perfect summer Gucci handbag!
Saturday, March 5, 2011
I almost fainted... literally
"I almost fainted... literally." That was the email that I got from the manager of our Boutique when she sent me pictures of new arrivals yesterday. I had to pinch myself as I scrolled through the images of the new inventory: a beautiful, quilted Chanel handbag, a Judith Leiber evening clutch with mirror and change purse, a diamond and black onyx David Yurman neclace, a Chanel necklace, a Judith Ripka 3 piece jewelry set, a Nancy Gonzalez crocodile clutch, and a Prada handbag. Check out the pictures below!

All I want for Christmas is...
On Saturday I texted Stephanie to see how the day was going. Her response: an email that should've been wrapped with a shiny bow: pictures and descriptions of newly arrived inventory that I'm certain had her drooling all over the keyboard! Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Coach, Armani, Badgley Mischka, and more. Her personal favorite: a brand-spankin-new pair of Givenchy heels. I saw them with my own eyes on Monday: 4 inch heels with triple mary-jane straps that decorate an ankle with carefully crafted perfection; the glassy, smooth, nobody's-ever-taken-a-step-in-me soles are deliciously caramel in color and so shiny I could see my reflection in them... and this is a SHOE! Anyways, enough about what we'd love to see under our Christmas trees. Take a peek... what's your favorite?

i *heart* details
If ever there was a Boutique Girl who, above all else, treasured the value of a detail, she would be Ivana. This attention to the little things couldn't have been more true than the day she topped wide-leg trousers with a fitted vintage t-shirt of Audrey Hepburn. The detail part: Ivana had replicated her hairstyle after Audrey's coif in the image down to the black cloth headband. She'd even mimicked the pearl studs. The look was perfection. As she zipped around Boutique in her usual way, customers literally stopped mid conversation to admire her ensemble.
My favorite detail: buttons. Either big, funky, statement buttons or high-quality, well-organized rows of buttons. I liken it to a manicured Pecan orchard (I drive by such a place on the way to my parents' lake house and I find that I always hold my breath as I stare down the perfect rows of grass and grandeur) or a random sunflower or day lily - a bright, random splash of color that seems so reckless that it almost dares anyone to tell it not to grow there.

I Walk the Line
We use music to take us away - to put words and tones to feelings that we can't describe on our own. There's an escape in a melody, inspiration in a harmony, and a tender cut in well crafted lyrics. I'm a firm believer in giving credit where credit is due - and I have no problem admitting when someone else's words find the soul of something better than mine.
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line
I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line
As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine, I walk the line
You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line
I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line
