Prove It

"Prove that anything outside of your mind exists..." That statement was scrawled across the dry erase board on the first morning of my first day of Philosophy 101 my freshman year in college. Stark white pieces of paper glared accusingly at us from the well-worn desk tops as we hesitantly filed past the assignment and nervously found a seat. No professor. Only the 8 red words would keep us company in that first hour. But even unattended, pencils scratched furiously across those neat pieces of paper as, heads bent, our young, ideal minds hammered out some attempt at proof. Obviously none of us came up with anything sound - of course, now I would simply say: the fact that I don't own a steel-gray quilted Chanel clutch proves that something out side of my mind exists - because if it was all in my head, I'd be a proud owner of that fabulous bag.

So what the heck does this have to do with fashion? At Boutique, we tell customers that we like to "play." Experiment. Give it a go. A good ol' college try. So, as the first heat wave cooks the southern clay a rusty red, it's also lent itself to a rather slow day here in the store. So we've played with Photo Shop on our latest set of blog pictures. Amateur, to be sure, but there's something so fascinating about altering reality...
