We're moving!

Check out pictures of our new location (right next door!) for our bigger better Boutique. It's still in progress, but we plan to open on... drum roll please... TUESDAY! We will need to close this Monday in order to get it looking just-so for our fantabulous customers. We're so excited!!

Workshop: GiGi Miller - your nest might have gotten quiet, but it's definitely not empty!

We had about 8 for the workshop and GiGi was nice enough to stay after for awhile and help our workshop attendees shop and put ideas into action.She spoke about changing up lamps with new lampshades, changing drawer pulls on dresser for a facelift, switch up area rugs for a new look, update picture frames or refinish them for a new look.

With the new school year upon us, the first 3 workshops will focus on getting your college bound kids in to their dorm rooms and reclaiming your nest once they've spread their wings! Tomorrow, Diane Quintana will give you the scoop on making that big college move easy through preparation and organization that you can do at home before you hit the road. She'll also give you tips on setting up your student's room in a way that will help set them up for success in this new chapter of their lives.

In a word: layers. And if I could pick one more: colors. And if I was allowed a third: boots. Backstory: when I tell customers in the Boutique that I grew up working on horse farms, they always look at me with puzzle pieces knitting across their faces: how, pray tell, did you wind up here? How do farms and fashion go together, or, more appropriately, collide? The short answer: blue jeans. Barn girls learn from an early age how to look good in blue jeans - how to turn the same pair of denim and leather boots into something so powerfully feminine that it catches even the most rugged cowboy by surprise. And then when we meet said cowboy for dinner later in the week, we top those can-do boots with something a little girly and pretend not to notice when he comes undone at the sight.

We women do a lot of work behind-the-scenes. We're unsung, multi-tasking, forces of nature - and we look good doing it!

The Man Chair

We took these blog pictures in what will soon be Finders Keepers Menswear! Our landlords just finished their part of the build-out (it's called a "white box" - stripped down floors and white walls... oh the possibilities!) and granted us the "certificate of occupancy," which means we get to -finally- move in and get down to business. The fellas may not want to hear it, but it's often so very true: behind every great man is a strong woman.
