we don't need no motto

"Always be prepared" - ah, the good ol' boy scout mantra. But we girls don't need to recite that to ourselves.. don't need to commit it to memory. Why? Because we were born prepared. No offense to MacGyver, but the main character shoulda been a woman. Sure, we like delicate fabric and paint on our nails, but just because we're capable of super human feats doesn't mean we like to skimp on the other fantastic parts of being a girl.

Jezebel's Best of Atlanta Party

When hatching a business plan for a small, boutique-style consignment shop for my mother's company, never did I think it would lead me here: a Best of Atlanta party on a roof-top veranda for the grand opening of Atlanta's newest luxury hotel. Classically clad men in black suits served a host of gourmet treats and fancy cocktails. Women in four inch heels and a menagerie of couture dresses smiled and congratulated each other under the soft light of a spring time sunset. And the three of us looked around and back at each other - I am sure a single thought occupying all three minds: how cool is this?

Seeing Double

Birds of a feather... dopplegangers... two is better than one.... what ever you want to call it, it's happening at Finders Keepers Boutique! Two HUGE Marc Jacobs hobo-satchels from the same line, two identical Hobo handbags, two straw totes (one is Tory Burch!), two Coach handbags, two Dooney handbags... it's like the Noah's Ark of accessories!

Something Old... Something New

Trends come and go, but style is forever. Colors and cuts that compliment YOU are the key. Fit can make or break almost any piece of clothing, and some colors can wow while others just wash out their wearer. This isn't to say that all items in your closet must be tailored just-so or belong to a single color family. Cinch in blousy tops with a structured belt, or show off your legs by pairing a drapey or billowy top with leggings or skinny jeans. Wear the color that makes you look ill, but break up the skin between your face and the culprit with a neatly tied scarf or necklace that pops a user-friendly hue.

she can run with the boys

Sassy, structured, and savvy are three words that love to coexist, especially this season. Femininely-tweeked menswear-inspired looks are not only oh-so-now, but functional... one of my favorite words. There's nothing more stunning than a woman who owns exactly who she is.

A Piece of the Puzzle

"What would I wear this with?" It's a question we hear a lot at Boutique. But allow me to shift your perspective... each piece of apparel that hangs or sits in your closet is just a piece to a puzzle that you'll put together every day. Mix and match, play, make mistakes (no one will see them but you,) create a masterpiece. The days of must-match are thankfully behind us, which gives you license to experiment. Take pictures of the out-of-the-box ensembles you put together. Even the looks that you don't like will help you exercise your fashionista side. Try to diagnose what about the outfit doesn't work, and be willing to dust yourself off and try again. Remember, this is suppose to be fun!
